How was the vaccine made so quickly?

Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccines were made using mRNA technology, which has been researched for years. It’s like getting an iPhone 13 — it’s new, but built off previous research so it doesn’t take nearly as long to make as starting from scratch. Another reason the vaccines could be developed quickly is because the government invested a lot of money in multiple vaccines at the same time. It’s like planting a bunch of seeds in the hopes that something grows. This money also allowed for overlapping clinical trials, and people from all across the U.S. volunteered to be in them to help scientists understand how the vaccines were working and how safe they were. If you meet someone who volunteered for a trial, say thanks!
