Monday, October 18, 2021

On Thursday, students from Baltimore area schools led a powerful conversation about youth vaccination at Baltimore Equitable Vaccination Initiative‘s second Baltimore: State of Vaccination event, which you can watch in full below. Watch the first event, featuring Mayor Brandon Scott and Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa here.

Baltimore City Public Schools CEO Dr. Sonja Santelises opened the program, saying “it’s our hope that you will share this correct, factual information with your peers and community.”

Students from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Mervo, Bard, Pikeville Middle School, Park, and St. Paul’s School for Girls participated in a “COVID Convo” with Hopkins Medicine’s Dr. Panagis Galiatsatos, while students from Johns Hopkins University hosted the program and led a session of “Fact or Cap,” calling out COVID misinformation.

The show aired live on Charm TV and is now available below and on YouTube. Baltimore City Public Schools teachers are being encouraged to show it in their classrooms.
